FAQs of Safety Group Valve
What is a Safety Relief Valve, and how does it work?
A safety relief valve is an automatically controlled pressure protection device that automatically opens and releases pressure through preset pressure and closes after pressure recovery to prevent system overpressure damage—commonly used in fluid systems such as boilers, pressure vessels, and pipelines. Its core function is to limit the internal pressure of the system so that it does not exceed the preset safety limit.
How do I choose the right Safety Relief Valve material?
The safety release valve can be selected based on the characteristics of the medium and the working conditions that require adaptation. Non-corrosive medium (such as water, air, oil) can choose brass, carbon steel, to reduce costs; corrosive medium (such as acid and alkali solution, seawater) can choose stainless steel (316/316L), Hastelloy. In a high-temperature environment (>200℃), choose high-temperature resistant alloy or ceramic seals; in a high-pressure system (PN>25), prioritize high-strength stainless steel or alloy material to avoid material deformation.
How do you test your Safety Relief Valve?
For routine testing before delivery, sealing performance tests are conducted to check the sealing effect of the valve spool and valve seat through pneumatic or hydraulic tests. A pressure setting test is also performed to slowly increase the pressure of the valve to the preset opening pressure to verify that the valve opens accurately and to calibrate the closing pressure after pressure recovery to ensure that it meets design requirements. All tests follow API 520, test data for each valve is documented, and test reports are available to customers.
Do you offer OEM/ODM services for safety relief valves?
Yes, we provide OEM/ODM customized service for safety valves. We will produce OEM according to the specifications and quality requirements provided by the customer company. We support both small batch trial orders and mass production. The factory can also optimize the product structure and material selection according to your cost budget. And ensure that customized products comply with international standards such as API, ISO, and market regulations in your region.
Can a Safety Relief Valve be installed in any orientation?
Safety valves can not be installed arbitrarily; according to the type of valve, a specific installation direction must be chosen. The most commonly used is vertical installation. Spring safety valves must be installed vertically; inclined or horizontal installation will lead to uneven spring force, affecting the accuracy of the opening pressure and return sealing. The lever weight safety valve, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, is typically installed at an angle, but usually in the vertical direction.
What are the common failure causes of the safety Relief Valve?
Impurities block the valve passage, preventing the valve from opening or closing correctly. Or installed in the wrong direction. There may also be improper adjustment, manually changing the valve setting pressure, destroying the original balance of the valve. The valves shall be checked regularly as required to ensure the system operates normally.
How long does production take?
For conventional safety valve products, after verification, the normal production cycle takes about 35 days; when new mold development and corresponding sample production are involved, time for mold design, processing, sample trial production, and testing must be reserved. The overall cycle takes 15-20 days; for samples that meet our existing standard specifications, the delivery cycle only takes 7 days.
What surface finishes are available?
When it is in a dry, non-corrosive environment, it can be directly treated with natural color, usually used for brass, stainless steel, etc., at a low cost; when it is in a humid or mildly corrosive environment, it can be improved by zinc plating, nickel plating, etc. Surface hardness and wear resistance
What are the payment methods? Do you support L/C or installment payment?
Our factory currently supports T/T (telegraphic transfer), L/C, acceptance draft, and other B2B conventional payment methods; large orders can be negotiated for installment payment (30% in advance +60% before delivery, +10% at the end of the warranty period).
Can safety valves be customized, such as with a company logo or model number?
Factories can provide customized services without affecting product performance and lead times. We support the laser coding company LOGO, with its brand name and exclusive number, on the valve body. Customized models, including setting pressure, applicable medium, and other parameters, can also be printed according to requirements to ensure consistency with order specifications.
