FAQs of Chrome Plated Brass P-Trap
1. What are the core competencies of P-traps?
As an original factory with direct supply, Plumberstar cuts out middleman price markups. We keep product quality high, and at the same time offer customers more competitive factory prices. We also support tiered pricing for bulk orders, cutting down your procurement costs a lot.
The body is made of lead-free brass with one-piece hot forging. There are no casting defects like sand holes or air holes. The metal molecular structure is dense, giving the valve strong pressure and impact resistance. It can withstand long-term water pressure changes in water pipelines, stopping the valve body from cracking and leaking. The surface uses a three-layer electroplating process—copper base + nickel layer + chromium layer, and the plating thickness is way higher than industry standards.
The water seal height meets national standards and international common requirements. It can effectively block odors, mosquitoes, and harmful gases from sewage pipelines from getting into the room. What’s more, the water seal won’t be easily damaged by water pressure changes or pipeline siphonage. The inner wall of the flow channel is CNC polished, making drainage smooth with no dirt buildup or blockages. This keeps the core functions stable for daily use, so you don’t need to clean and maintain it often.
All raw materials go through spectral composition testing when they arrive at the factory, making sure the lead-free brass is up to standard. During production, we check dimensional accuracy and the forming of the water seal cavity between each process. Before delivery, every finished product gets a 100% water pressure seal test. We also check plating adhesion, thread accuracy, and other key indicators. Each product comes with a certificate of conformity, and all production data is traceable. This ensures consistent quality for every batch of our products.

2. Can P-Trap adapt to different regional pipe thread standards?
Plumberstar chrome-plated brass P-traps are designed to fit the main pipe thread standards used worldwide.
Wide thread compatibility, ready for different regions.
Standard models use BSPP threads by default. BSPT is also available. For North America, NPT threads from 1-1/4″ to 2″ can be customized. For Japan, JIS PF (parallel) and PT (tapered) threads are supported. Metric threads (M series) can also be made if needed. In simple terms, whether the project is located in Europe, the US, Asia-Pacific, or the Middle East, the trap can be matched directly to local piping systems without the need for extra adapters.
Before shipment, every unit is checked with go/no-go thread gauges. It also undergoes an air-tightness immersion test based on GB/T 34635-2017, where it is pressurized to 0.6 MPa and held for 3 minutes, with no bubbles allowed.
3. How to apply P-trap samples?
Plumberstar’s chrome-plated brass P-trap sample service is built around one simple idea: move fast, stay flexible, and keep costs clear.
Send the request: You can contact a Plumberstar sales specialist, submit a form on the website, or send an email. Just tell us what you need—size, finish, seal type, and where it will be used.
Fast quotation: Within one working day, you’ll get a clear quote. It covers the sample price, any customization cost, and international express shipping. The quote stays valid for 7 days, no surprises later.
Production and shipping: Standard models go into production within 24 hours, pass inspection, and ship out within 3 working days. Custom samples—like special coatings or non-standard sizes—usually need up to 5 working days. Once shipped, you get the tracking number right away.
Sample fee return: If you place a batch order of 300 pieces or more later, the sample fee is fully refunded and deducted from the order amount.
4. Can CAD drawings of the P-trap be provided for bulk orders?
Available: Plumberstar chrome-plated brass P-type trap with bulk order support and free CAD technical drawings. Specific service details are as follows:
The drawings contain core contents, including a three-dimensional model of the valve body, key size parameters (caliber, water seal depth, installation hole position, thread specification, etc.), an installation schematic diagram, and the size of the adaptive pipeline interface, which fully meet the requirements of customer engineering design, installation planning, or secondary development.
Supported formats: The default provides DXF and PDF formats, with the ability to export STEP, IGES, and other 3D formats as needed by the customer. It is compatible with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other mainstream design software.
Acquisition method: After signing batch orders (of 300 pieces or more), customers can submit drawings through their foreign trade specialists. The factory’s technical department will then complete the drawings and send them to the designated mailbox within three working days, without additional payment.
5. What is the surface treatment process for the brass P-trap?
Plumberstar chrome-plated brass P-traps use a multi-layer electroplating composite process. Here are the specific steps and standards:
First, the formed brass valve body goes through thorough pre-treatment to get ready for electroplating. It’s put into a professional degreasing agent first. We do double degreasing—using ultrasonic waves and high-temperature soaking—to remove all surface impurities, such as processing oil, dust, and fingerprints. This stops them from affecting how well the coating sticks. Then we pickle it with a weak acid solution. This removes the oxide layer, scale, and tiny burrs on the base material, activates the surface, and improves the bond between the metal and the coating. It prevents the coating from peeling or lifting right from the start. After that, we rinse it with pure water several times in counter-current. This washes off any leftover acid solution. Then we do neutralization and passivation treatment to adjust the base material’s pH to neutral, so it doesn’t oxidize again.
At the same time, the valve body gets a fine polish. The outer surface is mechanically polished and then manually polished to a mirror-smooth finish. The inner wall of the flow channel is also polished. This not only keeps drainage smooth and hard to get dirty, but also makes the coating stick more evenly—no unevenness or color differences. Once electroplating is complete, the finished products undergo full testing. We check the coating’s smoothness, color differences, and overall appearance uniformity. For professional testing, we use the cross-cut method to test coating adhesion and a film thickness gauge to check coating thickness. All indicators must meet factory standards. Any unqualified products are reworked and replated right away.
Besides, we use eco-friendly electroplating raw materials throughout the process. They meet EU ROHS and REACH environmental standards, and don’t release harmful substances. They’re safe to use in drinking water pipelines—both eco-friendly and safe.
6. What is the water seal depth of this P-trap?
Standard water seal for everyday use
For normal drainage needs—like home bathrooms and kitchens—Plumberstar P-type traps use a 50 mm water seal.
Custom water seal options for special cases
Anti-siphon version
In high-rise apartments, hotels, or office buildings, pressure changes in the pipes can sometimes pull the water seal dry. For these situations, we offer deeper water seals in the 70–100 mm range. With an added anti-siphon design, this version keeps the seal stable even when the pipe pressure changes a lot. It’s a safer choice for buildings with heavy and frequent use.
7. How does this P-trap help distributors reduce warranty claims?
Stable water seal, fewer odor issues from the start Plumberstar P-traps use a water seal depth of at least 50 mm. This fully meets national building standards for drainage systems. For situations like high-rise buildings, where negative pressure or siphoning can dry out the seal, an added anti-siphon flow design is used. This helps keep the seal in place and stops odors from coming back through the drain.
Compared with ordinary traps that often have shallow seals or weak structures, Plumberstar greatly reduces odor-related complaints. For dealers, this means fewer after-sales claims and less time and money spent handling customer issues.
