A pop-up drain is a drain fitting commonly used on basins and floor drains. Inside it sits a compression spring and silicone seal ring. Push the top cover once to let water flow out, then push it again to seal the opening tight. The spring pushes the seal back into position by itself, and you won’t need any connecting rods to operate it.

The inner channel maintains a smooth bore with a minimum diameter of 32mm to support fast water drainage. When closed, the silicone seal closely fits the seat to block sewer odors and bugs effectively. This unit fits household bathrooms, kitchens, commercial catering spaces and factory cleaning areas. It is a practical upgrade to replace conventional flip floor drains.

This pop-up mechanism can handle more than 5,000 push operations and still keep a good seal. You can fully take apart the unit and clean everything in under 60 seconds. 2. What costs are included in the quotation for the pop-up drain?

Our base quotation for Plumberstar pop-up drains includes raw material costs, assembly labor fees and standard polybag packaging. Shipping charges, import tariffs and clearance fees are excluded from the default price. The final cost composition changes based on agreed trade terms, and we can separate every expense item clearly for your checking.

For EXW orders, you only settle payment for finished valves. You take care of all extra spending: inland trucking (roughly $40–80 for delivery to major seaports), export documentation fees, ocean freight, cargo insurance and import taxes at your destination. FOB pricing adds domestic transport and export filing fees into the quote. If you pick CIF terms, the price covers product cost, export charges, sea freight and basic insurance valued at 110% of the goods amount.

We can provide DDP terms if you order more than 5,000 pieces per shipment. This bundled price includes all costs up until the goods get to your warehouse, so there will be no unexpected charges when cargo arrives. Simply tell us your destination port and order amount.

3. How many cycles has your pop-up mechanism been tested for?

We carry out durability tests for pop-up drains with dedicated automatic testing machines to simulate real daily pushing operations. We set 50,000 cycles as our minimum internal pass standard. Different models deliver different performance, and qualified samples can reach 50,000 to 100,000 push cycles in testing. We observe rebound effect, stroke variation and sealing condition throughout the whole test process.

In typical home use, people push the drain open and closed roughly 10 to 15 times every day. At this usage rate, a pop-up drain that passes the 50,000-cycle test can work steadily for about 8 to 12 years if used under normal conditions. The silicone sealing ring and built-in spring stay functional without obvious leakage after repeated pushing.Actual service life will be affected by local water quality, water pressure and cleaning frequency.

During batch sampling tests, we record wear conditions of springs, sealing rings and valve cores. If any sample fails to maintain a tight seal before completing 50,000 push cycles, it will be rejected. We will adjust the structure accordingly before starting mass production.

4. Can the coating of the pop-up drain be customized?

We adjust plating types, surface textures and colours according to your market demand, bathroom matching style and working environment. We keep mature processes ready for different finish requests, and custom coating orders are accepted once your quantity meets our minimum requirement of 3,000 pieces per model.

We have many surface choices for you, like shiny chrome, polished surface and brushed texture. To keep surfaces durable, we adopt multi-layer electroplating and vacuum plating techniques. Samples pass a 48-hour salt spray test, so the surface won’t fade or corrode easily in damp bathroom conditions. We can tweak gloss levels and matte depth to match your other bathroom hardware.

On top of custom coatings, we add brand marks via laser engraving or ink printing. The logo position and size can be confirmed before mass production. Samples for coating and branding can be finished within 7 working days, so you can check the final look before placing formal bulk orders.

5. What are the differences between a traditional flip drain and a Pop-up drain？

Pop-up drains adopt push-to-open and push-to-close operation. You only need light pressing to switch the state, no need to grab or twist the lid manually. Traditional flip drains require you to flip the panel by hand every time. This pop-up structure can complete over 5,000 opening cycles without sticking, which brings much easier daily operation for wash basins and floor drainage areas.

Our pop-up drain is equipped with built-in springs and silicone sealing rings. The seal fits closely when shut, combining with water trap structure to block bad smells and insects. After long-term use, flip drains easily suffer deformed covers and aging gaskets. Normally, flip drains may have obvious odor leakage after 12 months of frequent use, while qualified pop-up drains maintain stable sealing performance for more than 3 years under the same environment.

The pop-up design needs minimum installation space. It only requires an installation depth of 65mm, suitable for thin tile layers and floors with underfloor heating. Conventional flip drains have protruding hinge parts, which demand at least 85mm installation height. Those exposed hinges also easily catch hair and dirt, bringing more frequent cleaning work.

6. What is the after-sales service for the pop-up drain?

If you find any quality problems with Plumberstar pop-up drains while the warranty is still valid, you can get in touch with your personal account manager, send an after-sales email or give our service line a call. Please prepare your order number, product model, and attach clear photos or short clips that show the problem. We aim to send you a reply within 24 hours. Our technical team finishes analysis and checks who takes responsibility within 3 working days. Should we need to test faulty samples, you can send them over, and we cover shipping costs for shipments with fewer than 20 pieces.

If the problem is covered by warranty, excluding incorrect installation and artificial damage, we offer different solutions. Minor faults get free spare parts together with operation guide videos. Products with functional failures receive free single-unit replacement. For batch defects affecting over 3% of the shipment, we discuss choices such as returns, refunds or preferential replacement supply.

After both sides confirm the resolution plan, spare parts or replacement pop-up drains will be dispatched within 5 to 7 working days. Our standard warranty period reaches 2 years under normal usage and regular cleaning. We preserve all order and production records for 4 years, which speeds up information verification and shortens the whole after-sales processing cycle.
