FAQs of Flow Meter Valve

1. What is the certified accuracy of the flow meter valve?

Every Plumberstar flow meter valve is calibrated individually. We issue factory precision certification for each one, making sure the displayed flow rate accuracy is within ±1%.

We control precision right from the design stage. Our engineering team has over 10 years of experience. They do precise calculations and repeated verifications to optimize how the valve core cone structure, spring force parameters, and visible floats work together. This allows the valves themselves to have stable, accurate hydraulic characteristics.

Before leaving the factory, all flow meter valves must pass a 100% individual calibration test. Each product is tested on a custom computerized flow test bench: water runs through the valve under different flow conditions. At the same time, a camera recognition system reads the flow meter float’s displayed values. The two data sets are compared in real time. Any product with a measurement deviation over ±1% is marked unqualified at once and rejected.

Test data for all calibrated valves is saved as measurable, traceable records. It’s linked to the corresponding production batch, so the precise source of every product shipped is clear, and the results can be checked and verified at any time.

2. What material is the flow meter valve’s indicator float made of?

The indicator float of Plumberstar flow meter valves features a composite structure—blending plastic with a stainless steel counterweight, the core design for reliable performance.

The float’s main body is made of food-grade high-strength polyoxymethylene (POM) engineering plastic. A precision 304 stainless steel counterweight is fully encapsulated in it via one-piece injection molding. POM material has great water resistance and dimensional stability. It won’t deform or dissolve even after long-term water immersion, perfect for common water media like tap water and HVAC circulating water.

The internal stainless steel counterweight precisely controls the float’s overall buoyancy. It lets the float rise and fall smoothly as the flow rate changes, making sure the reading responds fast and indicates accurately. This structure also stops jamming or displacement issues caused by unbalanced buoyancy, boosting the long-term stability and reliability of the flow indication.

3. Can the scale of the flow meter valve provide both GPM and LPM units?

Plumberstar flow meter valve scale panels show two measurement units at the same time: GPM (gallons per minute) and LPM (liters per minute).

Every flow meter valve has both GPM and LPM scales marked on the same panel. The two units are clearly zoned, with values matching one to one. It fits the measurement habits of different markets—North America, Europe, domestic, and more. Customers can use the valve right after purchase without changing the scale or making any modifications.

The dual-unit scales are calibrated strictly to internationally accepted measurement conversion standards. The scale lines are the same thickness and evenly spaced. We use high-contrast marking designs, like black scales on a white panel or red scales on a black panel. reducing the risk of misreading. The marking accuracy of the scale panel matches the overall measurement accuracy of the flow meter valve, ensuring the displayed data is accurate and reliable.

4. How is each flow meter valve calibrated in the factory?

Plumberstar calibrates every flow meter valve one by one with high-precision actual flow tests at the factory, strictly following the ISO 4064 metering standard. We use professional calibration equipment and standardized operating procedures to make sure the product’s metering accuracy meets the standard and data stays stable. This achieves full closed-loop control from calibration to verification.

The core calibration work is done on a fully automatic liquid flow calibration bench. The system uses an electromagnetic flow meter as the standard reference to collect actual flow data accurately. During calibration, we split the valve’s rated working range into three key intervals based on flow rate: minimum, normal, and maximum. The calibration bench’s flow control system then sends a steady, continuous, and quantitative water flow to the valve being calibrated.

The bench collects two sets of data at the same time: the actual flow data from the standard reference end and the displayed data from the flow meter valve being calibrated. Technicians use a professional calibration system to compare these two sets of data in real time. If any deviation is found, they immediately adjust the induction parameters of the valve’s internal metering core and the calibration structure of the float indicator scale. This adjustment continues until the deviation between the displayed and standard values is within the certified accuracy range.

Each flow meter valve’s complete calibration process generates an independent calibration record. It details the product model, serial number, calibration time, as well as the standard data, actual displayed data, and deviation values for each flow interval. All records are bound one-to-one with the product serial number and archived for the long term. We also engrave a calibration qualification mark on the valve nameplate, making sure the product’s metering accuracy is traceable, verifiable, and reviewable at any time.

5. Can the flow meter valve’s flow range and scale be customized?

Of course. You just need to tell us the target flow rate range and the specific application scenarios of the product.

Our engineers will calculate based on fluid dynamics, according to the actual working conditions. They’ll confirm the right float weight and internal flow channel taper parameters for your flow rate range. Based on the calculation results, we’ll customize a new float with the matching weight. Or we’ll adjust the valve body’s internal structure and the mold to make a fully functional product prototype.

Once the prototype design is done, we’ll develop matching scale marks at the same time. This makes sure the display range lines up exactly with the actual flow rate. After that, all customized prototypes go through 100% real-flow testing on a high-precision flow calibration bench. We check their measurement accuracy and stability thoroughly.
The prototypes that pass the test will be sent to you for confirmation. Only after you confirm that the sample’s performance and display effect are good will the product officially start mass production.

6. Can a flow meter valve integrate into a heating manifold for a complete balancing solution?

Plumberstar isn’t just a valve and manifold manufacturer. We’re also a professional supplier of integrated piping system solutions.

  1. When you have system integration needs, our engineers design flow meter valves and manifolds as a single integrated system right from the start. They match all parameters uniformly—from main pipe diameter, flow meter interface specs, to thread types and sealing methods. This makes sure all components connect smoothly, with no installation risks at all.
  2. In production, the full set of manifolds is professionally assembled at our factory. Around 120 skilled workers do the assembly on standardized production lines, using professional torque wrenches for precision. At the same time, quality inspectors with over 10 years of experience do random spot checks, making sure assembly quality meets all set standards.
  3. After assembly, we run a full high-pressure pressure-holding test on the entire manifold set. The test is performed at 1.5 times the rated working pressure, and we hold that pressure for at least 30 minutes. This confirms there’s no leakage risk in the system, guaranteeing stable and reliable performance before shipment.
  4. What’s more, we can pre-assemble all the necessary accessories for you based on your specific needs. This includes exhaust valves, drain valves, temperature-control valve cores, and branch-pipe joints. Once the products arrive at your site, no additional installation is required. It helps you save installation time and reduce construction and commissioning costs.

7. Why choose a factory-direct manufacturer?

Choosing Plumberstar’s factory-direct flow meter valves saves you from middleman procurement troubles. It makes purchasing easier and cost control simpler.

Factory direct supply cuts out all distribution links. Flow meter valves go straight from our production line to you—no layered price hikes. Our pricing is transparent, calculated based on raw materials and production processes. This lets us offer more competitive ex-factory prices.
