FAQs of Long Handle Drain Valve
1. What is the Long Handle Drain Valve manufacturing process?
The production process of long handle blowdown valves usually includes the selection of raw materials (such as stainless steel, brass and other materials selected according to specifications), main processing (Casting or forging molding, turning, milling and other precision machining to ensure size accuracy), core component manufacturing (valve core grinding, seal vulcanization molding, long handle stamping and polishing), assembly (valve core, seal, long handle and control structure are assembled in turn), performance testing (pressure resistance, sealing, operation flexibility test) and surface treatment (rust removal, zinc plating, spraying and other corrosion prevention processes), finally packaging and warehousing after quality inspection.

2. What is the difference between a long-handle drain valve and an ordinary drain valve?
The difference between long-handle drain valves and ordinary drain valves lies in their use and use scenarios.
Long-handle drain valves have a long handle that can be manually opened or closed from farther or higher. The valve is suitable for installation at the bottom of the equipment or in narrow spaces, which makes operation easier and safer. Ordinary sewage valves are generally designed with only a short handle or knob, so it is inconvenient to operate in narrow or hard-to-reach places.
In some industrial uses, the handle length of a long-handle blowdown valve can also be made longer or shorter to fit the site. Ordinary blowdown valves usually have a fixed handle and offer less flexibility.
3. Can the pharmaceutical industry use this long-handle drain valve?
This kind of long-handled blowdown valve can be used in the pharmaceutical industry, but the correct materials must be used.
If the valve is made of 316L stainless steel and the seal is made of a safe, non-toxic material, basic pharmaceutical use can be met. Stainless steel valve surface smooth, easy to clean, so dirt and bacteria are not easy to stay inside.
Because of this, the valve can meet GMP basic requirements. It is suitable for draining waste liquid and wastewater during medicine production.
4. How to calculate the extra cost of a long-handle drain valve?
The extra cost of a custom long-handled blowdown valve depends on what is changed.
If 316L stainless steel is used instead of the normal 304, the price will be higher because the material costs more, and more material may be needed. If the handle is made longer or the connection type is special, an extra cost is added for more work time and harder processing. If special surface treatment is required, such as pharmaceutical polishing or special coating, this will also increase the cost. If a new mold is needed for a special valve body or valve core, a mold fee will be charged.
For small custom orders, the cost per unit may be higher. The final price is based on the customer’s requirements, drawings, and order quantity. For larger orders, some custom costs can be reduced.
5. When is the payment period for the drain valve?
Plumberstar’s payment terms for long-handle blowdown valves depend on the order type and how we work together.
For regular export orders and new customers, we usually ask for a 30%–50% deposit. The balance is paid before shipment. The deposit is used to prepare materials and reserve production time.
For long-term customers with stable cooperation, the payment terms can be more flexible. For example, a 20% deposit, payment after seeing the bill of lading copy, or even quarterly settlement, based on agreement.
If payment is made by L/C, the terms will follow the letter of credit rules, which are usually linked to shipment and document submission.
The final payment method is decided based on the order value, customer credit, and discussion between both sides.
6. What is the process flow of a replenishment order for a long-handle blowdown valve?
Long-handle blowdown valve replenishment order processing flow:
-
Customers submit the original order number, product specifications, and replenishment quantity of demand. We check the history of cooperation information and inventory status after rapid feedback quotation and delivery.
-
After everything is confirmed, the customer makes the payment as agreed. Existing customers can continue using their usual payment method. We then arrange production or prepare the required documents at the same time. If the product is in stock, delivery can be arranged within 48 hours. If production is needed, the order will be completed according to the agreed production schedule.
-
After delivery, the logistics information and bill of lading will be pushed in real time. After the customer signs, we will follow up on the acceptance situation. The whole process will be synchronized by the dedicated docking person to ensure efficient connection.
7. How many years of blowdown valve production experience does your factory have?

Plumberstar Factory has been making valves for almost 20 years. It has more than 15 years of experience making long-handle blowdown valves. The factory can produce both standard valves and custom designs. These valves are used in industries like chemicals, medicine, and energy. Many customers from over 50 countries have used these products and trust their quality.
8. Can you modify the Long Handle Drain Valve structure?
We can change and customize the long-handle blowdown valve based on your project drawings. We can adjust the valve size, make the water path bigger or smaller, improve the sealing parts, change the handle length or how it is installed, and add special coatings to resist rust or chemicals. These changes help the valve work better in special or harsh conditions. Our design and engineering team has the experience to do this.
Before making any changes, we first check your drawings to make sure they can be made safely. We confirm the materials, difficulty, and cost, then share a clear modification plan and sample plan with you. After you approve, we start mass production. All customized valves are tested for pressure, sealing, and long service life to make sure they meet your project needs.
9. Is there a cost advantage to sourcing Long Handle Drain Valve from your factory?
Buying long-handle drain valves directly from the factory can save a lot of money. This is mainly for four simple reasons.
First, there are no middlemen. When you buy from a factory, you do not need to pay extra profit to agents, wholesalers, or trading companies. Because of this, the price is usually about 15%–30% lower than buying through a trading company.
Second, factories buy raw materials in large amounts and use automated machines to make the valves. This helps lower material and production costs. When you order more, the price for each valve becomes cheaper, so big orders get better discounts.
Third, factory-direct shipping reduces extra storage and transport costs. The factory can ship full containers or arrange batch deliveries, which helps lower the shipping cost for each product.
Fourth, you can talk directly with the factory’s technical team. Custom changes do not need extra design or sample fees from middle companies. Good quality control also means fewer repairs later, which helps save money after the purchase.
