Background of the Pex heating manifold system
We didn’t reply to the inquiry, provide a quotation immediately, or ask for more information about the applications. Most of the manifolds are used for the underfloor heating water control system, and they enable rooms to be kept at the same temperature in a house. However, from 2-12 are with the standard types. The customer requested branches from 2-16 because the heating control system is used in residential, commercial, and industrial places, as some buildings have more offices, rooms, etc., and thus require more branches. We develop a basket solution according to the client’s applications and request details.
– Min. 60° C working temperature
– Working pressure: PN6
– Max. pressure PN10
We provide a unique stainless steel body instead of the usual type.
- It looks nice, and it’s accessible to identify the profile
- Make 1″ union nut on 2 end sides. There are differences between the classic type
- Make a copy flowmeter instead of the original Taconova brand (1/3 cost compared with the original one).
- Functional applications and features are the same
- Reducing the cost and making it a better one.
We talked about these details for about two weeks, including the polish finish, the flowmeter, and the hotel applications. This is a new type, so we first make a new set of samples for a customer.HVAC manifold

Process of the heating manifold project
The sample took about 3 weeks. We tested the new sample with the customer brand logo, copy flowmeter, and original quality brass air vent valves 3 times before dispatching it.
Samples were reached, and the customer tested them in a laboratory in the company. They request another whole set of samples and a 10-piece flow meter. They need to test it in a third-party laboratory to ensure the quality is the same. Flowmeter data must be the same as the original one. Their purchase turnover is between 300k and 500k USD (only for the manifolds). We can accelerate our growth with an excellent new product at a very competitive price.
It takes a few months of testing. The manifolds’ long-term testing will be completed by February 2020. Unfortunately, your flow meter did not perform as well as the original ones from Taconova (especially the l/min indication was inaccurate). Hence, the customer considers choosing a supplier with original flowmeters. It’s frustrating news for us, and we have tried a few times. Still, the customer needs 100of % the same data as the original about the flowmeter, so we give it up. Still, the customer agreed to place the PO for manifold, air vent, actuator, and adapter for us, and thanked us for our support. They are pleased with our service and free samples. Other parts have passed the sample test, except for the flow meter, so they need to choose the original flow meter from Germany.
Anyway, it’s acceptable, and the case lasted over one year. We had discussed many times, faced many problems, and got solutions according to the customer’s requirements. Even though it’s not 100% perfect as our expected result, we are happy.

What Makes PEX Manifolds Indispensable?
PEX manifolds are designed to distribute fluids efficiently with minimal loss of pressure or heat. The centralization of control allows for easy management, troubleshooting, and maintenance, marking a significant advancement in plumbing and heating systems.
What Are the Materials Used in PEX Manifolds?
While PEX refers to the type of tubing used, manifolds can be made from stainless steel, brass, or even high-quality plastics. Each material brings its unique advantages, matching the demands of different project specifications.
What Makes PEX Manifolds Ideal for the German Climate?
The PEX manifold’s ability to manage radiant heating systems efficiently is a boon in the chilly German winters. Its competency in maintaining desired water temperatures with minimal energy expenditure speaks volumes about its suitability for the German climate.
What Sizes Are Available in PEX Manifolds?
The versatility of PEX manifolds is further accentuated by the wide array of sizes available to cater to various project needs. Sizes are typically dictated by the number of outlets or “ports” they possess, which in turn determines how many separate lines or zones can be managed by a single manifold. Here’s a breakdown of the standard sizes you will encounter:
Two to Four Ports:
Small-sized PEX manifolds with two to four ports are ideal for smaller applications such as a single-room floor heating system, small apartments, or isolated sections of a larger building. They offer a compact solution for managing a modest number of lines.
Six to Eight Ports:
Medium-sized PEX manifolds are more suited for average-sized homes or commercial spaces. With six to eight ports, they provide a balanced blend of control and capacity, ensuring that each zone receives an adequate supply of water.
Ten to Twelve Ports or More:
Large PEX manifolds come with ten to twelve ports or more, making them the go-to choice for larger buildings, commercial complexes, or industrial applications. They can handle a higher number of lines, thus offering comprehensive control over extensive plumbing or heating systems.
Customizable Options: Beyond the standard sizes, some manufacturers offer customizable PEX manifolds, where you can specify the number of ports based on your project’s unique requirements. This flexibility allows for a more tailored fit, ensuring optimal performance and ease of management.
Branch Sizes: The branch sizes of PEX manifolds, indicating the diameter of the outlets, also vary. Standard branch sizes include 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, and 1-inch. The right branch size would depend on the flow rate requirements and the size of the PEX tubing being used in the project.
Choosing the right size of the PEX manifold is crucial as it significantly impacts the efficiency and manageability of the plumbing or heating system. By aligning the manifold size with the scope and demands of the project, you ensure a well-orchestrated, efficient fluid distribution network that stands the test of time.
What Raw Materials are used in PEX Manifolds?
PEX manifolds are integral components in plumbing and heating systems, responsible for distributing water or other fluids to various zones or areas. The quality of raw materials used in their manufacturing is crucial to their performance, durability, and reliability. Here’s an insight into the primary raw materials used:
1. Polyethylene (PEX):
- Cross-Linked Polyethylene (PEX): The namesake material for PEX manifolds, PEX is known for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to high temperatures and corrosive substances. The cross-linking process enhances its strength and thermal capabilities.
2. Brass:
- High-quality brass: Often used for making fittings or valves within the manifold, brass is appreciated for its corrosion resistance, excellent machinability, and good strength and ductility.
3. Stainless Steel:
- Corrosion-resistant stainless steel: Stainless steel might be used in higher-end PEX manifolds due to its outstanding resistance to corrosion, high-temperature tolerance, and strength.
4. Copper:
- Robust copper: Like brass, copper has natural corrosion-resistant properties and is also a good conductor of heat, making it a suitable material for specific components of the PEX manifold.
5. Plastic:
- High-grade plastics: Certain components, such as brackets or covers, might be constructed from high-grade plastic materials, which are known for their lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties.
6. Rubber and Seals:
- Durable rubber and sealing materials: For creating tight seals between the manifold and connecting pipes, high-quality rubber or other sealing materials are employed to prevent leaks and maintain pressure integrity.
How Do PEX Manifolds Comply with German Building Standards?
The robust build, efficiency, and ease of installation of PEX manifolds align well with the stringent German building codes. Moreover, their compatibility with the prevalent PEX tubing standards in Germany makes them a preferred choice among contractors and builders.
PEX manifolds minimize the potential for leaks, reduce the number of required fittings, and allow for individualized control of different zones, hence contributing to overall system efficiency and ease of management.
Conclusion
PEX manifolds have undoubtedly carved a niche for themselves in the German market, offering an amalgam of efficiency, control, and durability. They signify a forward stride in modern plumbing and heating solutions, resonating well with the rigorous standards and expectations of the German construction landscape.
