1. What is the difference between a TMV and a pressure-balancing valve?

Thermostatic mixing valves: The hot and cold water mixing ratio or water pressure may shift slightly during use. The inner valve core adjusts fast to balance these changes. Outlet water stays near your preset value and avoids unexpected hot or cold spikes. The temperature error normally stays within ±2℃. These valves fit well for bathroom water supply and household heating setups.

Pressure balancing valves: These valves rely on inner balance parts to tweak hot and cold water flow automatically. The design stabilizes pressure from incoming pipes and eases temperature swings brought by shifting water pressure. Still, users cannot lock in an exact fixed water temperature with this style. They come without built-in anti-scald protection. Any natural shift in incoming water heat will directly change the final mixed water temperature at the outlet.

2. Does the TMV include integrated check valves on both hot and cold inlets?

Every Plumberstar Thermostatic Mixing Valve comes standard with an integrated check valve at both hot and cold water inlets. It stops cross-flow between hot and cold water effectively.

The integrated structure combines the thermostatic mixing valve with dual check valves, cutting down external connection points. This boosts overall reliability, lowers installation risks and customer complaint rates, and reduces after-sales maintenance costs too. The check valve and thermostatic valve core are designed to work together under the same working conditions, fully adapting to the system’s water pressure and temperature range. They open and close sensitively, and won’t affect the normal hot and cold water inlet flow, or the accuracy of mixed water temperature control.

3. How is each TMV tested before factory shipment?

We test every TMV fully and thoroughly. Only products that pass all core test items are packed and shipped.

Structural Strength and Tightness Tests: Shell pressure resistance test: Block all the valve’s water outlets, inject water or air into the valve body at 1.5 times the rated working pressure. Check every part carefully for potential leakage, including the valve body and all connections. Valve seat sealing test: Test the valve seat’s sealing performance alone when the valve is closed. This stops hot and cold water from mixing inside the valve body.

Extreme Safety Test: Cold water failure protection test: Cut off the cold water supply completely, suddenly during the test, simulating unexpected interruptions. The TMV’s internal thermal-sensitive components must respond quickly—within 1–2 seconds —almost closing the hot water channel. This causes water output to drop quickly, reducing scald risk. It’s one of the TMV’s core safety features.

Plumberstar can provide the corresponding inspection reports for each batch of TMV as needed. The reports are delivered with the goods, making it easy for your quality management and project acceptance work.

4. What thermostatic element is used in the brass thermostatic mixing valve?

Our brass thermostatic mixing valves use reliable wax inserts as the core temperature control piece. This proven part is widely used to stabilize water temperature in bathrooms and heating systems.

Premium thermal wax fills the inside of each insert. Heat makes the wax expand, and cold makes it shrink. It picks up tiny water temperature changes easily and holds temperature error within ±1℃. The wax piece adjusts the hot and cold water inlet openings right away to keep a steady mixed water output.

Inlet water pressure or flow may shift suddenly. The wax core reacts fast to fix resulting temperature changes. No sudden scalding hot or freezing cold water comes out of outlets. The full adjustment finishes in just one to two seconds. Users get stable, safe, and pleasant running water all the time.

5. Can brass thermostatic mixing valve packaging be customized?

Outer packaging customization: We support custom color boxes and corrugated boxes. You can have your exclusive logo, brand name, product model, and parameters printed on them. We can also add multilingual instructions and certification marks like CE/EN as needed, to fit the packaging specs of different markets at home and abroad.

Inner packaging customization. We can make custom pearl cotton, EVA liners, and blister trays. We open precise molds based on the valve body structure for a snug, protective fit—stopping collisions and scratches during transport. We can also add custom storage spots for accessories according to your purchase needs.

Plumberstar provides free packaging design drafts. We adjust the layout, size, and printing process to your requirements, making sure the custom packaging matches your product positioning and target market needs perfectly. All our packages pass compression and drop tests too, meeting the protection needs for cross-border shipping.

6. What’s the ODM process for the brass thermostatic mixing valve?

You can start our ODM cooperation easily. Share your product ideas or market planning with us. Rough hand-drawn drafts work fine, too. Our engineering team talks through every detail with you.

We next check if your project can be put into production. With plenty of past ODM experience, we suggest practical structural adjustments and ways to cut costs. We also send you an open quotation listing mold cost, unit price, and expected development schedule.

Once you confirm the design plan, our designers produce 3D drafts and engineering drawings for your review. After you sign to approve these files, we use CNC machines to build one or two working prototypes. All prototypes go through full function testing, then ship together with test papers for your physical verification.

Your signed-off sample clears the way for mold making, including casting molds. When molds are finished, we produce a small trial batch and run full checks to match all your requirements.

Trial products that pass all inspections move into official mass production. Our 150-person production team follows fixed working steps. Work covers incoming brass inspection, forging, precision machining, assembly, and full air or water pressure testing for every single valve. QC inspectors carry out spot checks on key production steps nonstop.

We run one last random inspection right before packing. We complete custom packaging, brand logo engraving, and SKU barcode printing as agreed ahead of shipment.
