Safety Valve:Safety valves act as the final safety guard for pipeline systems to deal with unexpected overpressure. When medium pressure rises above the system’s maximum allowable pressure threshold (generally 5%~10% higher than the set value), the valve opens automatically to release excess pressure quickly. This valve stays fully closed under regular operating status and only activates when abnormal overpressure occurs.
Relief Valve: They mainly stabilize working pressure and divert extra medium flow, commonly used in fixed-displacement pump water supply and hydraulic systems. Maintains steady working conditions for the whole pipeline.

2. Is a stainless steel hydraulic safety valve available?

Brass and 304 stainless steel hydraulic safety valves suit different working conditions. No single material works perfectly in every environment. When picking materials, you need to consider many factors. These include fluid type, steady working pressure, water conductivity, corrosion risks, and overall purchase budget.
Brass hydraulic safety valves are lighter, cheaper to manufacture, and come with shorter lead times. They operate reliably with neutral tap water, underfloor heating, and regular chilled water. The working medium should have a pH value between 6.5 and 8.5 and contain no corrosive ions. Still, it cannot maintain pressure as consistently as stainless steel alternatives.
304 stainless steel hydraulic safety valves stand up well to acid, alkali, and saltwater. They effectively resist rust. Strong valve bodies handle frequent water hammer impacts. These valves keep reliable sealing near the coast, at chemical plants, and in areas with mineral-rich groundwater. Their service life runs about 30% to 60% longer than that of brass valves. Its complicated CNC processing also makes each unit more expensive than brass safety valves.
