Background of the Pex heating manifold system
This German customer contacted us in early 2019. They request a pex heating manifold from China, a unique stainless steel 304 body with a flow meter, and two air vents valve； The customer is looking for a competitive long-term business relationship with an underfloor manifold supplier. And the customer said, “The renowned one in the European market in underfloor heating. As I saw your catalog from your website, Please quote for the specified stainless steel manifold attached with MOQ per piece. We need from 2 – 16 branches.”

S.olution of the manifold project
We didn’t reply to the inquiry, provide a quotation immediately, and ask for more information about the applications. Most of the manifolds are used for the underfloor heating water control system, and it’s let rooms be kept at the same temperature in a house. But from 2-12 are with the standard types, but the customer requested from 2-16 branches; The customer said the heating control system is used for residents and commercial, industrial places because some build with more offices, rooms, etc. requested more branches. So we make a basket solution according to the client’s applications and request details.

We provide a unique stainless steel body instead of the usual type;

We talked about these details for about two weeks, including polish finish, flowmeter, and hotel applications. This is a new type, so we first make a new set of samples for a customer.

The sample took about 3 weeks. We tested the new sample with the customer brand logo, copy flowmeter, and original quality brass air vent valves 3 times before dispatching it.
Samples were reached, and the customer tested it in a laboratory in the company. They request another whole set of samples and a 10pcs flow meter. They need to test it in the 3rd party laboratory to ensure the quality is the same. Flowmeter data must be the same as the original one. Their purchase turnover is between 300k-500k USD (only for the manifolds). We can accelerate our growth we an excellent new product at a very competitive price.
So we prepared the 2nd time for them and sent it out for free.
16 branches manifold
It takes a few months of testing. The manifolds’ long-term testing will be completed by February 2020. Unfortunately, your flow meter did not perform as well as the original ones from Taconova (especially the l/min indication was inaccurate). Hence, the customer considers choosing a supplier with original flowmeters, It’s frustrating news for us, and we had tried a few times. Still, the customer needs 100% same data as the original about the flowmeter, so we give it up. Still, the customer agreed to place the PO of manifold, air vent, actuator, and adapter for us, and thanks for our support. They are pleased about our service and free samples; Other parts are past the test of samples except for the flow meter, so they need to choose the original flowmeter from Germany.
Anyway, it’s acceptable, and the case was spent over one year. We had discussed many times and faced many problems and got solutions according to the customer’s requirement. Even with not being 100% perfect as our expected result, we are happy.
We got 70% of orders from the customer in April 2020, but the quantity deduce by 30% due to COVID-19, and our production time was delayed 30 days as well. We discussed these with the customer, and we understood each other and got more flexible solutions in a dire situation.
